25daysofChristmas, day 16.

with the winter sales meeting over and done, i got on a plane, and headed back to colorado.

oh wait.
no i didn’t.

time has only taught me that my traveling luck is terrible.
however, i took the delay en-route to colorado, allowed me to make a surprise visit to 80 (burton headquarters) and surprise some friends.

luckily, i knew that the best of the best burton has to offer would be at the front desk, and excited to see me. when i opened the doors, i received the most epic welcome from the beautiful voice of burton, lauren offenberg, and my sister from another side of the country, miss amanda wormann. because of the earlier flight issues, and a night spent in detriot, i wasn’t going to to be able to see them – so for once, flight issues created happiness.

burton was in the middle of there annual web presents, in which there is a live webcast of all things happening at headquarters. lots of cool prizes were given away and lots of my friends got some onscreen time to talk about product.

web presents host alex!

my two favorite people at burton, clarissa and mikey talk about boots!

stoked to see my beautiful amanda!

i also had time to do this to paul paracka’s (our dealer service rep) desk. #win

christmas fun from my favorite babes: yess. tawnya. nicole.

25daysofChristmas, day 12.

day 12.

today, the rest of the burton crew and i are heading to vermont for the annual burton winter sales meeting. as you may recall, i have the best luck when it comes to traveling to vermont – so naturally, i assumed that something would go wrong when i got to the airport this morning.

and it did.
our 8:05 flight, got delayed to 10:45 – which means we will miss our transferring flight to burlington. and the slippery slope that it is, i will not get to ride in stowe tomorrow morning, or party with the best of the burton’s best tonight. fml.

sitting at the airport, in the 7th level of my deepest despair, a christmas miracle happened. on the loud speaker, it was announced that old st. nick himself was just two gates away from me, and taking photos and hearing our christmas wishes. naturally i wished for our transferring flight to be delayed (sorry other people on the flight), and chris kringle said he would do his best.

the fine people of Window’s 7 (jenna to be exact) hooked me up with a free lesson in their new photo editing software and these sweet shots of me and santa – even though i use a mac. despite technology differences, had a good chat with santa and my new friend jenna – about all things blogging and snowboarding. i tell you, the crazy shit that goes on in airports.

anyway, praying for a christmas miracle – and that we get to stowe tonight. come on santa, i’ve been a (mildly) good girl this year.

yess, nicole, and tawnya are probably on the naughty list.

getting to sales meetings on time is for poor people.

getting to sales meetings on time is for poor people.

when you travel, why does it always seem like it’s you. its you’re flight that’s delayed, its your baggage that gets lost, it’s you’re crying baby…wait, i got sidetracked.

traveling across the country is always stressful: parking at the airport, getting checked in on time, checking baggage, even though you only brought one item that was necessary for checking, finding your gate, sitting next to the snoring guy, the unsolvable sudoku puzzle…the list goes on.

traveling becomes more stressful when you have to be in burlington, vt for the burton summer sales meeting, and your flight gets canceled. katie and i experienced this yesterday (july 20th), when our flight to LGA (new york), was canceled due to mechanically errors.

luckily, i NEVER panic in these situations – so what if we were being redirected to washington dc…so what if we had to stay the night at an overpriced hotel in dc…so what if we had to get up at 4am for a flight to LGA…so what if when we arrived in LGA and found out our flight to burlington was cancelled…so what if i lost my baggage claim ticket…so what if we missed the entire summer sales meeting (open bar included in there)…so what if we have been wearing the same clothes for 48 hours…so what if i don’t get to spend time with any of my burlington friends…so what if this sucks….okay, now i’m panicking.

so this is what’s happening…and I sit here now, at the bar in the slip mahoney’s grill in the LGA airpot, drinking my 4th corona. and waiting for our new flight to burlington. praying our bags magically appear…thought, i’m assuming they wont….le duh.

this is my life.

happy campers.
