drawing inspiration for life, love, and awesome, from one of my favorite site: weheartit.

took kick off summer, i headed to red rocks with sean, jt, peter, alana, meg, rik, and kate, for one of my favorite summer activities: film on the rocks. first movie of the season, the big lebowski.
fun fact. i have never seen the big lebowski. blasphemy, according to all of my friends. upon finding out that i had never seen the movie, peter put a challenge in front of me: to drink every time someone says “dude.”
in case you were wondering, throughout the movie, the word dude (or any form of the word dude, i.e. dudereno), is used 161 times. peter didn’t let me miss one dude, and in the end i was a bit tipsy. from what i can remember, i really liked the movie, dude.

newsflash i’m a chick. and without preparation or notice, sometimes i cry in movies. okay, let’s be honest here, i cry in about all movies. it’s a wonderful habit i picked up from my mom, and if i a movie is good enough (who am i kidding, i cried in Hard Ball), and i am invested in the story, i’m probably going to cry.
yesterday for example, i watched four movies: love & other drugs (cried), he’s not that into you (cried), monster in law (didn’t cry), and life as we know it (sobbed).
i have even been known to start crying when simply thinking about a movie or describing it.
the funny part about using a sleepless in seattle clip, is that i of course, 100% of the time cry while watching that movie.
my movie watching sobs and sighs, often become comic relief for the people in my life. i believe on many occasions @seanisadick is the first one to tweet about my blubbering emotions. i however, find it easy to laugh along with the tears…because when you’re crying about baby G getting shot right after the big game – you kind of have to laugh at yourself.
and now a list of films that i have shed many tears for:
dead poets society, brokeback mountain, little miss sunshine, life as we know it, american beauty, of mice and men, garden state, forrest gump, i am sam, a walk to remember, the family stone, love actually, fried green tomatoes, 10 things i hate about you, he’s just not that into you, pay it forward, life is beautiful, rainman, terms of endearment, cheetah, hardball, love & other drugs, my sister’s keeper, shawshank redemption, the patriot, saving private ryan, big fish, the notebook, pride & prejudice, lion king, fellowship of the ring, marley & me, sleepless in seattle, you’ve got mail, the fox and the hound, harry potter and the sorcerer’s stone, harry potter and the chamber of secrets, harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban, harry potter and the goblet of fire, harry potter and the order of the phoenix, harry potter and the halfblood prince, harry potter and the deathly hallows: part 1, ps. i love you, city of angles, WALL-E, hope floats, armageddon, dear john, blindside, little women, i am legend, an american tale, click, philadelphia, stand by me, field of dreams, a time to kill, beauty and the beast, american history x, toy story 2, erin brokovic, edward scissorhands, big, home alone 2, sweet november, to kill a mocking bird, a little princess, castaway, catch me if you can, cool runnings, mean creek, mr. hollands opus, finding neverland, crash, notting hill, the crow, braveheart, seven years in tibet, higher learning, dangerous minds, stand and deliver, outbreak, lean on me, the evening star, sex and the city, stepmom, up, the little mermaid, and 2/3 of all lost episodes.
