Left With Nothing

june 10th – 30DaysOfAwesome, day 1.

so its finally here. my beloved 30 days of awesome. as you know, its an epic journey of all things awesome for the next 30 days of my life. last year was such a blast, that we had to sign on for another. please visit jess werner, nicole birkhold, and tawnya schultz’s blogs and see what kind of awesome they are getting themselves into.

so how to start off my adventure of awesome? go to work.

luckily for me, it was one of those rare occasions where “work” means, “let’s get drunk and go to the rockies game.” sadly, the reason for work being this way is because it was jevan lautz’s last day with burton snowboards. and as you know, when people leave burton, they go out with a bang. and when i say “bang”, i actually mean booze.

the whole crew gathered for 1 last day with the old man jevan and headed to the colorado rockies game. on the roster: jevan, casey, john d, paige, jess kelly, yeahchad, katie, hannah, rob, merrill, and oh yeah, me.

before we went to the game, we had to honor jevan in our own way. during his stay in the world of burton he had earned quite a few special nicknames: heavy, dick, old guy. but the one that stuck out the most was: jevina. (disclaimer, sorry about this mom, i had nothing to do with it). so in true katie fashion, some cupcakes were made. special jevina vagina cupcakes.

for lack of better words, they were delicious. this guy liked them.

game time.

we may have had too much fun.

these guys were super cool. poor mans kenny powers and raiden from mortal kombat.

the whole burton crew…together one last time.

after the game, we headed to the star bar for some drinks and dancing with some crazy 47 year old gemini. she loved her some merrill.

merrill snagged a bunch of married babes and we had a dance party.

then it was off to root down for some more drinks…and absinthe? yeah, that happened. not gonna lie, not that awesome.

but you know what is awesome: friends.

eh, kinda miss you jevan.
